Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between brow tint & brow dye? -Brow tint is the traditional method of just colouring the hairs giving it a natural tint. This can vary with light- deep dark brown shades but typically gives a softer look. This will last minimum 4 weeks. -Brow dye will give a slightly more bold look with more of a skin stain to give a filled in look. We can adjust the dye to be softer or more intense saturation, but have many colour variations from blonde- deep dark brown. This will last minimum 2 weeks on the skin & 6 weeks on the hair.

What is a brow lamination? -A brow lamination is a chemical process applied to the brows that manipulates the hairs in a way where they brows have a fuller looking effect. This gives a soft effect with no damage to the brow hairs. Instead of having to use a gel or brow soap daily to brush the hairs in place, the brow lami allows the hairs to stay in the place they are brushed when styling. Brow lamis can last upto 8 weeks ( keeping in mind it can't be done before this time frame or hair health is compromised) & aftercare treatments will be applied at home to rehydrate the hairs for the following weeks post lami.
What is a lash lift? -Lash lifting has quickly become one of our most popular services & quickly replacing lash extensions. We work with your natural lash growth to curl/lift the lashes in a way as if you have used a lash curler but lasting 8 weeks! This allows us to reduce the amount of makeup used, better lash health with potential growth and low matience. Instantly opening up the eyes this can be done on any lash length, eye shape etc. A tint will always be included in the service unless requested otherwise.
What is the difference between ombre, combination & microblading eyebrow tattooing? Ombre- Is more of a filled in look just like using brow powder or getting a brow dye done by using a machine & needle to create soft pixels in the brow. This can still be soft & natural looking. Suitable for all skin types, mostly oily skin. Mostly for creating more shape & filling in gaps in the brow. Microblading- Typically the most natural looking style, creating hairlike strokes through the brow allowing gaps to be filled but not to bold or intense. This is a great style to start with if you are nervous or hesitant with brow tattooing. This is suitable for most skin types but works best on a normal/dry skin. Combination - A mixture between both ombre & microblading. This is a versitile style where we can create a soft feathered brow but maybe adding a touch of shading ( ombre) in gaps or maybe if you would like a little more defination in the tail. Most people will start with this and then slowly add more shading once healed. Suitable for most skin types.
Does cosmetic tattooing hurt? Nope! We use a compounding pharmacy that makes up a stronger cream & gel that we can apply before & throughout the procedure. If at any point it is uncomfortable, we apply more numbing. Most cosmetic tattooing isnt painful, it is more of a scratchy feeling and alot of clients actually fall asleep!
How long is the recovery for brow tattooing? - 7 days is the aftercare protocol with the aftercare. You will receive a homecare pack with cream to put on once a day for 7 days. Brow sheilds to keep the brows dry in the shower for 7 days. A spoolie so if there is dry skin stuck in the hair or itchy, you can gently brush through the brow. Then a sterile wipe to clean the brows the day of from any debris/ lymph ( the clear fluid that comes from the skin during the natural healing phase). After the 7 days, be mindful the skin is still healing underneath the surface so while you may not have to do the whole aftercare routine, you will still have to be mindful when being in direct sunlight, swimming sauna, makeup/ brow pencil etc.
Do I need to get my brows waxed or tinted prior to tattooing? It is prefereed that you have a decent amount of growth when you come in so we can see the full potential of your brow shape & what we are working with. We will tidy them up after the procedure to ensure you leave with extra fresh brows! No need to tint as we will most liekly remove alot of the colour when tattooing anyway & we like to see the natural hair coluring of the brows so if we need to we can match the pgiment to it.
What is lip tattooing & what is the healing like? - Lip tattooing is enhancing the natural lip shape & size with a light pop of colour. We can create a soft blush like look where the colour is subtle or we can do a lipstick look with a defined lip line. Lip tattooing will always fill in the whole lip, not jsut the outline. Aftercare is to just avoid hot/ spicy foods for a few days post. Apply the cream given for 3-4 times a day for 7 days. Lips may feel like windburn for 7 -10 days. Try your best to avoid getting toothpaste all over lips ( I know this is hard! But you can do it). Colour will lighten upto 60% and soften to look like a natural lip colouring. Lips may be swollen and on ocassion slightly bruised ( depending on the person, this is a rare occarance) for up to 48 houss after but will settle after that.
Is a cosmetic tattoo the same as s body tattoo? Essentiall the same but we use a differnt machine/blade, differnent pigments and differnet depth in the skin to ensure the pigment will fade out naturally as it's not designed to be like a body tattoo and last forever. We only work 1-3 mm into the skin as we are here to enhance the natural beauty.
How often do I need to get my brow tattooing redone? Once you come for your inital appointment, you will then be required to come for a 6-8 week touch up. This is a perecting appointment as all tattooing is a 2 step process and we need to ensure the brows are 100% to your satisifation. After the 6-8 week touch up, it is reccomended to come at the 12 month mark ( Yes i send annual reminders!) but some people look after the tattooing well or their skin retains the pigment well so onthis may be pushed out to 18 months. Usually we reccomend to let the tattooing fade a significant amount before coming back so the brows arent too saturated with continuous touch ups every year. A good indication that you may be due for a touch up is when you are filling your brows in again or finding they my need a tint etc.
How old do I have to be for cosmetic tattooing? Must be 18 years or older.
